Error Taxonomy + Scoring Rules

Conceptual error

Definition: Wrong because of a gap in knowledge (formula, theorem, rule)

Fix: Go back to source material — drill the concept 20× before moving on

Careless error

Definition: Knew the method but made arithmetic/reading mistake

Fix: Slow down by 15 sec per question — re-read before selecting

Timing error

Definition: Ran out of time — guessed or skipped

Fix: Practice pacing drills — never spend more than 2.5 min on any single Quant question

Trap error

Definition: Selected the ETS trap answer (usually partially correct)

Fix: For QC: test numbers — for PS: eliminate before confirming
